[APPLY] GNAT Announces Recruitment for Assistant Regional Secretary Position
The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) has officially opened applications for the position of Assistant Secretary (Assistant Regional Secretary). The Association is seeking highly qualified, motivated, and goal-oriented Ghanaian professionals who are passionate about advancing the welfare of teachers and contributing to the development of education in the country.
According to the notice, applicants must possess at least a first degree from a recognized university and be a committed member of GNAT who upholds the Association’s values. Candidates must also be in good standing as professional teachers, holding a rank not below Assistant Director II, with a minimum of five years of working experience at that level. Alternatively, individuals at the Assistant Secretary II rank with four years of experience may also apply. Applicants should be between 30 and 45 years old and have basic computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of administrative and leadership duties within the Regional Secretariat. These include managing personnel and records, compiling educational statistics, supervising welfare and economic activities, and ensuring the safe custody of the Association’s property. Additionally, the Assistant Secretary will oversee retirement and death benefit payments, vet vouchers for approval, and report to the General Secretary through the Regional Secretary.
GNAT emphasizes that the role demands a highly motivated individual with strong integrity, dependability, interpersonal skills, and leadership qualities.
