CHASS Has Withdrawn from National Science & Math Quiz 2025 Due to…

The Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS) has announced the postponement of its participation in the 2025 edition of the National Science & Math Quiz. In a letter dated October 2, 2025, addressed to the Managing Director of Primetime, CHASS expressed regret over the decision, citing a lack of funds as the primary reason.
The letter, signed by the National Secretary, Baro Primus, referenced an earlier communication from September 2025 and informed Primetime that schools under CHASS will be unable to participate in the ballot and subsequent quiz competition due to insufficient funding. This financial constraint has hindered schools’ ability to mobilize and organize their students for the event.
Despite the setback, CHASS has assured organizers that it will reassess its position once the government releases the necessary funds. The organization pledged to communicate any updates accordingly. “We want to assure the organizers that, as soon as government releases funds for that purpose, CHASS will review its position and communicate to you accordingly,” the letter stated.
CHASS also extended apologies for any inconvenience caused by this development, while expressing gratitude for Primetime’s understanding. Copies of the letter were sent to the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), the President of CHASS, and regional chairmen of the organization.
The National Science & Math Quiz, a prestigious annual competition, encourages academic excellence among secondary school students in Ghana. The postponement has left many anticipating further updates as CHASS awaits government support to ensure participation in the upcoming edition.
