Finally, GES Addresses Salary Related Issues of Staff

The Management of Ghana Education Service as part of its mandate of prioritizing the welfare of its staff, is by this letter reassuring all staff of its commitment in addressing salary-related issues.

Management appreciates the plight of our affected staff due to the upsurge of salary-related issues and its adverse effect on productivity and wants to assure our staff that pragmatic measures of management, in collaboration with Public Services Commission, Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) and the Unions, are being pursued to earnestly resolve all outstanding issues i.e. Salary Reactivation, Promotions of all ranks and Up-grading.

From January-March, 2025 salary reactivations submitted to CAGD-1,579.

Number of Salary Reactivation done -1,417

Number being worked on -162

Promotions 2024-out of the 54,227 who passed, 50,458 were placed on their new ranks.

Outstanding 2023 promotions are being worked on and hopefully, by the end of May, 2025 affected staff shall be put on the right scale.

All outstanding lower rank promotions and upgrading shall be processed at the various Regional Education Offices with immediate effect.

In view of the above, all Regional Directors must ensure that all outstanding Lower Rank Promotions and Upgrading to Principal level for both Teaching and Non-Teaching are resolved and letters issued to prospective staff by 2nd May, 2025 and copies submitted to GES Headquarters, Accra.

Management would not take it kindly with any Director who will not comply with this directive.
