Government Releases Feeding Grant for Special Needs Schools

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that the Government of Ghana has released the feeding grant for Special Needs Schools across the country. In a press release dated June 25, 2025, the GES revealed that a total amount of GH₵8,989,866.00 has been paid to cover the feeding grant of all learners in Special Needs Schools.

According to Daniel Fenyi, Head of the Public Relations Unit at GES, this disbursement demonstrates the Government’s continued commitment to inclusive education and the wellbeing of learners with special needs. The GES management acknowledged and appreciated the patience, resilience, and dedication of all heads, staff, and learners of Special Schools.

The GES also commended the Government for prioritizing special needs education. The service remains committed to collaborating with all stakeholders to ensure equitable and quality education for every learner, regardless of ability.
