Gov’t Declares Public Holiday on July 4, 2025

In a recent press release issued by the Ministry of the Interior, the general public has been informed that Friday, July 4, 2025, has been declared a public holiday. This declaration was made by His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Ghana, through an Executive Instrument (E.I.), in accordance with Section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act, 2021 (Act 601).

The press release, signed by Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, the Minister for the Interior, and issued in Accra on June 26, 2025, states that the public holiday should be observed throughout the country. This means that all businesses, institutions, and government offices will be closed on July 4, 2025.
