NTC Sends Important Message to Private School Teachers

The National Teaching Council (NTC) has issued a public disclaimer cautioning private school teachers and stakeholders against an unauthorized Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Day Programme currently being circulated.

In an official notice dated 20th January 2026, the Council revealed that it has come across a flyer inviting private school teachers to participate in a so-called National CPD Day Programme allegedly organized by N-COPST. According to the NTC, this programme has not received approval from the Council and therefore lacks the required authorization.

The NTC has consequently urged private schools and teachers to disregard the circulated publication, stressing that participation in unapproved CPD activities may not be recognized for professional purposes. The Council emphasized that all CPD programmes must go through proper validation processes before they are endorsed.

To address the situation, the NTC disclosed that it is actively consulting with relevant stakeholders to organize an official National CPD Day Programme specifically for private school teachers. This initiative, when finalized, will be communicated through approved and verifiable channels.

Teachers have also been advised to rely solely on official NTC platforms for accurate updates and announcements. These include the Council’s verified social media accounts and its official website.

For clarity or further information, the NTC encouraged the public to contact the Council directly via its official email and phone numbers. Additionally, the Council called on the public to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious communications related to its activities.

The statement was signed by Dennis Osei-Owusu, Head of Public Affairs at the National Teaching Council, reaffirming the Council’s commitment to safeguarding professional standards within Ghana’s education sector.
