Panic gripped students and staff of the Kwapong Nursing Training College in the Asunafo South District when a fire broke out, engulfing parts of the school and forcing many to run for safety.
According to eyewitness accounts, the blaze started unexpectedly, sending thick smoke into the sky and throwing the campus into confusion. Students were seen screaming and rushing out with their belongings, while others sought shelter in nearby houses and open spaces.
Firefighters and school authorities worked swiftly to manage the situation and prevent the flames from spreading to other areas of the campus. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far.
At the moment, the cause of the fire has not been confirmed. Authorities say investigations are underway to identify what triggered the incident and assess the full extent of damage to school property.
Several students who escaped the fire shared their emotional experiences.

Another student, who preferred to remain anonymous, added:
“It was terrifying. We thought the fire was coming to our hostel. Everyone was panicking. We need better fire alarms and safety measures on campus.”
The incident has left many shaken, prompting calls for improved fire systems, emergency plans, and regular safety drills on campus.
