Teachers and Parents shocked as Aggrey Memorial SHS headmistress displays bunch of c0nd0ms, pills seized from students
In a bold move to address the growing concerns of indiscipline among students, the Headmistress of Mrs. Dorothy Adentwi-Hayford Aggrey Memorial Senior High School took a firm stance at a recent Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meeting. During her address, she publicly displayed a collection of confiscated items, including condoms, pills, and other unauthorized materials, to drive home the severity of the issue.
The Headmistress emphasized that while the majority of students remained disciplined and focused, the persistent misconduct of a few was undermining the school’s mission and reputation. She lamented the rise in sneaking out without exeat, bullying, stealing, truancy, and general apathy towards academic work.
In a candid critique, the Headmistress also addressed the role of some parents in perpetuating the problem. She condemned instances where parents defended bad behavior without investigating the facts, verbally abused school staff, or even invoked curses against authorities for disciplining their wards.
To elevate the school’s status from category B to category A, the Headmistress announced a tightening of the disciplinary framework, with zero tolerance for misconduct. She appealed to parents to go beyond financial support and become more engaged in their children’s moral and academic development.
“When your children return home with complaints, please investigate. Contact the school before jumping to conclusions,” she urged. The Headmistress also reminded parents of the importance of respecting the school’s security protocols, which are in place to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
The meeting concluded with several parents voicing their support for the Headmistress’s tough stance, commending her leadership and commitment to upholding discipline and academic standards. As the school embarks on this new path, it remains to be seen whether the combined efforts of the administration and parents will yield the desired results.
