Daylight robbers escaped with over GH400,000 – Victims reveal
A couple of traders at the Aboabo station and Allabar who witnessed the ‘Rambo style’ robbery and shooting incident have revealed that the robbers bolted with over GH400,000.
The robbers numbering 7 on Friday, October 30, 2020, invaded Kumasi Allabar wielding AK-47 guns and machetes and killed in person in the process and injured four others severely in the process.
Speaking to OTEC News Kwame Agyenim Boateng, a trader and one of the victims at Allabar said the armed robbers went on a shooting spree after they stormed the area at about 12:00 pm in the afternoon.
Recounting the sad incident, one of the victims whose name has been withheld said the armed robbers were moving with a “Ghana must go” bag filled with cash from the forex bureau and mobile money operators.
“I was in my office relaxing when they came in with their guns and demanded we release the money. They told me they will shoot if I refuse to hand over the money to them.., by that time we had prepared about GH250,000 to send to the bank when they came and made away with it” he revealed.
The Ashanti Regional Police Command has started investigations into the incident.
