GES Dismisses Claims of Selling Appointments, Releases Fresh Recruitment Details

In response to recent allegations of a “secret” recruitment and the sale of teaching appointments within the Ghana Education Service (GES), the management has swiftly addressed the issue.
The outcry stemmed from a viral video and media reports claiming that individuals were paying exorbitant amounts, up to GHS 25,000, to secure teaching appointments within the GES. However, the official statement from the GES management categorically denies these allegations, labeling them as false and not reflective of the actual recruitment process.
To provide clarity on the recruitment process, the GES management highlighted that the financial clearance for 2024 applicants was extended in October 2025. Furthermore, applicants with expired clearances had their onboarding processes reinstated. This led to the issuance of new appointment letters free of charge, replacing any fraudulent letters that may have been circulating.
In light of these developments, the GES emphasized the importance of reporting any individuals requesting money to facilitate recruitment to the appropriate security agencies. It is crucial to uphold the integrity of the recruitment process and prevent any unscrupulous practices that may undermine the system.
As a reassurance to the public, the GES reiterated that the recruitment process remains open, transparent, and free of charge. Qualified candidates will be invited to apply once the necessary financial clearance is obtained. An official announcement will be made to notify potential applicants of the opportunities available within the GES.
The notice, signed by Daniel Fenyi, the Head of Public Relations at the GES and dated 12th December 2025, serves as a testament to the commitment of the GES management to uphold transparency and integrity in the recruitment of teaching staff. It is a reaffirmation of their dedication to ensuring a fair and equitable process for all candidates.
