GES Sends Important message to Basic Schools and Senior High/Technical Schools; Act as it’s very urgent

The management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) wishes to inform all Heads of Basic, Senior High/Technical Schools (SHS and SHTS) that, Friday 6th June, 2025 has been declared a public holiday for the observation of the Eid ul-Adha celebration.

In a letter signed by Dr. Munawaru Issahaque The AG. Deputy Director-general (Q&A) monitored by gespages.com indicates that heads of schools are to permit students who wish to travel home and celebrate the Eid ul-Adha with their families the opportunity to do so. However, this break is optional, and students who choose to remain on campus should be appropriately supervised.

He further states that all Students who will travel home are expected to return to school on Sunday, 8th June, 2025 to resume academic activities.

Moreover he stated in the letter that, Regional Directors are requested to disseminate this information to all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Directors of Education (MMDEs), as well as Heads of Senior High Schools for their attention and necessary action.
