Basic problem facing creative arts industry is lack of education – Okraku Mantey
Ghana’s Creative Arts Council president Mark Okraku Mantey has noted that the main problem facing the creative arts industry is the lack of education for practitioners when it comes to the profession.
He said a lack of education leads to confusion among practitioners.
In relation to that, he revealed Akufo Addo’s government is creating the Creative Arts School in Kumasi to aid in the education of practitioners and other individuals who wish to delve into the sector.
Airing his views during the Creative Arts and Tourism Debate which was organized by Media General, Mr. Okraku Mantey said: “The root of the issue is lack of education”
For his part, Sadiq Abdulai Abu, Chief Executive Officer of 3 Music Awards who speaks for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) on issues relating to the Creative Arts industry said his party has far better policies for the sector than what is currently being done by NPP.
