JHS Teacher butchered for allegedly chasing someones girlfriend at Agogo

A Basic School teacher in the Ashanti Region’s Asante Akyem Agogo was brutally murdered for reportedly chasing another man’s girlfriend. On the night of Tuesday, July 11, 2023, an unknown masked guy allegedly attacked the victim, Maxwell Opoku, 37.

He died as a result of his injuries at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. Maxwell Opoku, a teacher at Saint Augustin R/C Junior High School in Agogo, was assaulted by an unknown attacker immediately after meeting a 22-year-old seamstress near the school at approximately 9:00 p.m. that fateful day.

Witnesses said the instructor shouted in anguish, pleading for help while he was being pummelling. Those who arrived on the scene discovered him in a pool of blood.

Mr Opoku received many machete cuts on his head, hands, and other portions of his body from the suspect.

According to reports, the teacher had already received threats over his connection with the young seamstress from an anonymous individual.

Enock Asiedu, Assembly member for Agogo Obuase Electoral Area, verified the occurrence, stating that the police had launched an inquiry.

He went on to say that the female involved had been detained by police to help with the inquiry.
